Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam rightly quoted, “You have to dream before your dreams can come true.” As per his saying in his motherland many minds have spent their treasured time in planning to provide quality education to the needy people from rural areas especially doubly marginalized people. The high calibre of those minds resulted in establishing Raja Matriculation School in 2009. With its extreme sensitivity to national policies and community needs, they extended the educational services apart from nine years by administering a higher educational Institution. It results in blooming Raja College of Arts and Science (2017). The Founder and the Chairman of our college was Seva Rathna Thiru.T.Raja.
The newly administered college has taken its very first step in higher education in 2018 with the prime motive of making the students knowledge, acquisition and career readiness. Raja College of Arts and Science has come under the jurisdiction of Alagappa University. It has been sanctioned by TN Govt. (G.O.115) 2017.
The first academic year (2018-2019) was unveiled with five undergraduate courses namely B.A., English, B.Sc., Mathematics, B.Sc., Chemistry, B.Sc., Computer Science and B.Com CA., In the next academic year (2019-2020), our college offered BCA., BBA., B.Com., and B.Sc., Bio-Chemistry. Within the college campus, the people of education community surely/sanguinely every ounce of air filled with academic ambience, compassion, and magnanimity. Self discipline among the students was cultivated by the non scholastic activities such as cultural programmes, sports, inter and intra college competitions. The inquisitive minds of students were actualized and digitalized by computer laboratory and spacious chemistry laboratory.
No doubt, the general library in the college astounds the students and makes them voracious readers. Education with accommodation is the one among the special features of our college. Higher education is at your door steps by arranging sophisticated, transport facilities. Quality education for students’ growth with their development was emphasized through competitive physical education.
Proficiency in the language skills was instructed within the college campus elucidates the latent dexterity of the students. It paves way for integrating their personality. Real education enhances the dignity of a human being and enriches his/her self-respect. Placement cell of our college trains the students to enhance their ability in entrepreneurship and employment potential from the day one in entering the college campus.
